During the summer 2024, DiNoBord went outside of the Nordics and discussed issues of surveillance and borders with interdisciplinary groups of scholars in Australia.
Matilda Arvidsson, DiNoBord researcher and WASP-HS Associate Professor in the project AI, The Social Contract and Democracy, held a Visiting Research position at Deakin Law School, the Centre for Law as Protection, Melbourne, Australia, July-August 2024, at the invitation of Prof Shiri Krebs. Prof Krebs had previously visited Gothenburg University, in 2023, and presented her research on border surveillance and drone technologies to the group in a research seminar.
As part of Matilda visiting position, she presented our project in the Staff Seminar at Deakin, enabling further collaborations between our project members and prospective collaborators at Deakin Law School. A second step of this collaboration will take place when Prof Bertil Rolandsson will visit Melbourne as an invited guest to the Centre for Law as Protection in 2024–25.
